  • Siren Chase

Hum a comfortable note so the game learns your range, then follow the line as it rises and falls.

Scored on: The share of the round your pitch stays within one and a half semitones of the line.

  • Steady Hold

Hum any note you like. Once the game locks it in, keep it steady without wobbling or running out of breath.

Scored on: Your longest unbroken stretch within seventy cents of the locked note.

  • Range Ladder

Hum your starting note, then step up the ladder. Hold each rung steady for a moment and the next one lights up.

Scored on: How many of the five rungs you reach before the round ends.

  • Echo Beat

Listen to four clicks, then answer with four short sounds on the same beat. Say ta, clap, or knock the desk.

Scored on: Your average distance from the beat, in milliseconds.

  • Loud and Soft

Keep any sound going and match the band as it swells and drops. Words, humming or counting all work.

Scored on: The share of the round your loudness stays inside the band.

  • Twister Sprint

Read the tongue twister out loud without stopping, then press Done the moment you finish.

Scored on: Your time, accepted only if you kept speaking for at least seventy percent of it.

  • Timing Match

Deliver the line so it lasts exactly as long as the target. The game times your first word to your last.

Scored on: How many milliseconds your delivery lands from the target length.

  • Emotion Roulette

Take the line the spinner gives you, perform it in that mood, then listen back to yourself.

Scored on: Nothing. This round is for playing with delivery and hearing the result.

  • Whisper Mode

Keep talking or counting, quietly. You have to stay loud enough to register but under the line.

Scored on: Your longest unbroken stretch inside the quiet band.

  • Pitch Darts

Hum your starting note, then jump to each new target and hold it for a moment to score the dart.

Scored on: How many darts you land before the round runs out.

  • Breath Meter

Take a breath and make any sound for as long as you can hold it. Pitch does not matter here.

Scored on: Your longest unbroken sound in one round.

  • Loud Burst

Stay quiet and watch. The moment the board says GO, make the loudest sound you can.

Scored on: Your reaction time in milliseconds, measured from the cue to your sound.

  • Rhythm Copy

Listen to an off-kilter pattern of four clicks, then clap or say ta to copy it back exactly.

Scored on: Your average distance from the pattern, in milliseconds.

  • Pitch Limbo

Hum a comfortable note, then slide down as far as you can and hold the lowest note you can reach.

Scored on: How many semitones below your starting note you can hold steady.

  • Note Catcher

The board plays five notes, one at a time. Sing each one back in the gap; octaves up or down still count.

Scored on: Your average distance from the played notes, in cents.

  • Volume Stairs

Climb the volume steps one at a time. Hold each step steady for a moment before the next one opens.

Scored on: How many of the four steps you land in one round.

  • Hold the Silence

Stay completely quiet. Breathing counts, chairs count, the dog counts. The timer resets on any sound.

Scored on: Your longest unbroken silence.

  • Pitch Wave

Hum a note, then swing your pitch up and down. Each clean swing wide enough to count adds a wave.

Scored on: How many full waves you make in the round.

  • Beat Keeper

Four clicks set the tempo, then they stop. Keep the beat going on your own with short sounds.

Scored on: Your average drift from the tempo, in milliseconds.

  • Two-Note Jump

Hum your starting note, then jump a third above it and back, again and again. Each clean pair counts.

Scored on: How many clean jumps you make before the round ends.

  • Countdown Sprint

Count down from ten to one out loud without stopping, then press Done the moment you reach one.

Scored on: Your time, accepted only if you kept speaking for at least seventy percent of it.

  • Clap Sprint

Clap, tap the desk or say ta over and over. Every separate sound counts, so keep them crisp.

Scored on: How many separate sounds the round picks up.

  • Hum the Scale

Hum your starting note, climb the scale one step at a time, then come back down the same way.

Scored on: How many of the nine steps you hold in order.

  • Volume Freeze

Make any steady sound. The game locks the level you settled on, then checks how still you keep it.

Scored on: The share of the round your loudness stays on the locked level.

What the score actually measures

Every round is settled by arithmetic on your own audio, inside the browser tab. No model listens to you and no recording leaves the device. This is the arithmetic.

Pitch

The analyser takes 2,048 samples at a time and correlates the window against itself for every lag between 70 and 1,000 Hz. It then picks the shortest period that scores within six percent of the strongest one, which sounds like a detail and is not: a voice correlates almost as well at half its frequency, and detectors that skip this step report notes an octave too low. Distances are given in cents, a hundredth of a semitone, so the 150-cent tolerance in Siren Chase is a semitone and a half either side of the line.

Rhythm

Beat games watch for onsets: the frame where loudness crosses the threshold after sitting below it, with a 200-millisecond guard so a single clap is never counted twice. Your score is the average distance between those onsets and the grid the clicks set. Under about 60 milliseconds reads as tight to a listener; past 200 the pattern audibly drags, which is why the same number that looks small on screen sounds late in your ears.

Volume

Loudness is the root mean square of each frame in decibels below full scale, mapped from a floor of −50 dBFS. Whisper Mode keeps you between roughly a tenth and four tenths of that range — the awkward middle of the voice, loud enough for a phone microphone to register, quiet enough not to wake the room. Volume Freeze does the opposite: it locks the level you settle on and then measures how still you hold it.

Speech

Speech rounds measure two things: where your first and last words land, and how much of the round actually carried voiced sound. Twister Sprint only accepts a time if you were speaking for at least seventy percent of it, because a quick time full of gaps is not a quick twister. Timing Match ignores the words entirely and reports the gap between your delivery and the target length in milliseconds.

Scores are kept in this browser and nowhere else, so clearing site data resets them. That is also why there is no leaderboard: a ranking needs an account and a server, and this site has neither.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Questions about The Choicer Voicer.

The voice games, free online play, downloads, Dub Packs, multiplayer, device support, and microphone basics.

What is The Choicer Voicer?

The Choicer Voicer is a voice-impression game: you perform audio prompts in your own voice, and Dub Mode lets you voice over a video scene. The Voicer Choicer brings the voice games and the dubbing stage to your browser, free.

Which voice games can I play here?

Twenty-four of them, grouped by pitch, rhythm, volume and speech: Siren Chase, Steady Hold, Range Ladder, Pitch Darts, Pitch Limbo, Note Catcher, Pitch Wave, Two-Note Jump, Echo Beat, Rhythm Copy, Beat Keeper, Loud and Soft, Whisper Mode, Breath Meter, Loud Burst, Volume Stairs, Hold the Silence, Twister Sprint, Timing Match and Emotion Roulette. Each round is scored from your own microphone input on your device. Volume Freeze, Countdown Sprint, Clap Sprint and Hum the Scale are the newest.

What is the daily challenge?

Every day the board picks one game for everyone. Play it to keep your streak going. The streak and your best scores are stored in this browser only, so clearing site data resets them.

Where can I download The Choicer Voicer?

The original Windows and Linux build is a paid download from the game's own store page. Nothing has to be installed to play here; the games and the dubbing run in the browser.

Can I use it on mobile or Mac?

The original desktop game supports Windows and Linux, not macOS or mobile. The games here run in the browser, so a Mac works; on phones it depends on your browser's microphone recording support.

Does The Choicer Voicer have multiplayer?

The original desktop game supports local multiplayer for up to four people taking turns at one machine. Here, pass the device around and compare scores: there are no online rooms and no sign-in.

Why is my microphone not working?

Check the selected input, mute switch, and microphone permissions in your browser and system settings. Record one short line and listen back. Headphones help keep the reference audio out of your recording.
